Our House

What makes living in Student House so rewarding?

Diversity

In Student House you will find people from all around the world, each of them bringing different traditions, ideas, and, of course, food. In fact, back in 2019 we threw a formal that was focused on our international diversity! There were different foods, flags, decorations and it was an amazing time :') You can see it for yourself!

Convenient Location

Located under the Citgo Sign, we are just a few steps away from the Kenmore T Station and all the awesome restaurants at Kenmore Square (e.g. Fin's Japanese Restaurant, Thai Dish, UBurger, Bertucci's, etc.) and many other food places (Uno Chicago Pizza, Qdoba, McDonalds, Popeye's, Zinga Froyo, Cafe 472, etc.).

There is also a convenience store right around the corner (City Convenience, and 7-Eleven just across the street), in case you need some late night snacks/coffee. With the theater just a couple minutes away from the house, you can almost certainly find us at the movies during the weekends. The Saferide shuttle conveniently stops right in front of our house.

First Floor Common Space

Located right at the middle of the house, the 1st Floor Common contains a foosball table, a piano, a drum set, a couch, and the mailboxes. It also serves as a passageway joining the main entrance, the living room, the dining room, and the grand staircase.

Living Room

Equipped with a 36 inch television and a sound system, the living room hosts our weekly movie nights. Sometimes, we just hangout and chill in the comfy couches in the living room, having random conversations or philosophical discussions with whoever is awake.

Dining Room

The dining room is where we catch up with one another after a day of classes, while enjoying delicious home-cooked dinners. As a co-op, we take turns to cook food for the house. We have dinners Sunday to Thursday every week. The dining room also contains a pool table, where we relax and socialize after having dinner.

Library

The library is located on the 2nd floor of the house. In addition to being an ideal place for problem sets and house meetings, the library also hosts many social events, including birthday celebrations and our weekly social nights. We have a collection of books on almost any subjects, together with course notes of classes from previous semesters on the shelves lining the library. At the corners are two computers with access ot MIT's Athena System. The library also has a nice view of the Charles River and of the MIT campus.
